Calgary Queer Arts is excited to announce that the 26th Annual Fairy Tales Queer Film Festival will be hosted at The Grand YYC. We will be hosting a small arts exhibition and makers market during the four-day festival, and we’re welcoming expressions of interest in participation from Queer artists and makers.

If you’re a Queer visual artist and would like to submit work for the juried exhibition, please fill out this form, or send an email with a photograph of the work you would like to exhibit, including its dimensions, a bio and an artist statement.

If you are a Queer maker and would like to host a small table to sell your work at Fairy Tales Queer Film Festival, please send an email with a bio, photo and description of your work, including how you would showcase and sell your work at the festival.

You may submit up to 4 pieces for consideration by the jury. 10 to 15 pieces will be chosen for the exhibition based on the ability of the piece to add colour, texture and story to our shared understanding of Queer lived experience.

There is no cost for submission and all artists chosen will receive an honorarium and the ability to sell their piece at the festival. This is an exclusive opportunity as there is limited space available for the market (12-15 vendors). Market entrance will be free to the public and you will have a built-in audience of film festival patrons.

All submissions will be evaluated by a small committee of artists and arts administrators.
